A LIST: Things You Should Never Buy While Traveling
1. Wi-fi
If you are reading this post, nine times out of ten you are using the internet and probably connected to some sort of (paid) data or wi-fi connection. You are already receiving a bill for the use of the internet, why receive an additional bill to use the internet at the airport? First of all, the wi-fi at the airport is so slow, so NOT SECURE, and so overpriced. $9.99 for 1 hour of wi-fi? No way fam. Use travel time to take a break from the cyber world. Your emails and Social Media posts can wait until you get to a *free* wi-fi area. Pack a book or pick up a few magazines. Your mind and your wallet will thank you later.

2. Souvenirs
I know what you are thinking, 'What do you mean don't buy souvenirs?' This is a tricky one and requires a little bit more investigation, but may also end up being a great social and learning experience. Injecting money into the economy of the destination you are traveling to is always encouraged. However, you would be surprised at the number of souvenirs that are made in China. Purchase souvenirs made by local craftspeople, look for restaurants that source ingredients from nearby farms and gardens. Book an independently-owned hotel. When you spend your tourist dollars locally, you boost the local economy and help maintain the community.

3. Alcohol
Anything you can buy at your local liquor store, don't buy on vacation. Just don't.
